serendipty - new poems - Ian C. dawkins Moore
THE HAPPY POET
I am a
happy poet
my moods
go up and down
and every
time my wife complains
I try not
to get too down.
I am a
happy poet
I was
stamped as such at birth,
I
sometimes forget the joy of song
'til your
face breaks out in mirth.
I am a
happy poet
I
sometimes forget my place,
‘cause
poets never make a bean
but we
all have a happy face.
I am a
happy poet
each day
a new refrain
friends
ask me how I do it
I tell
them it’s in my brain.
I
am a happy poet
cause all
I do is rhyme
I pick
the verse by myself
it’s the
way I spend my time.
